Kevin Sheedy, 52 today, was born in Builth Wells and joined The Bulls as a 16 year-old apprentice in 1975 while The Club was under the stewardship of John Sillett.
He was given an extended run in the team at the back end of the ill-fated League 2 (now Championship) season of 76/77 and was on the bench for the renowned Best and Marsh Show at Craven Cottage.
Sheedy went on to make over 70 appearances for United before a transfer to First Division Liverpool in 1978. A four-year spell at Anfield provided very little first team action and he moved across Stanley Park to Everton in 1982.
His ten-year spell at Goodison saw him rack up over 300 starts plus gain 46 caps for The Republic of Ireland.
He later had time with Newcastle and Blackpool before retiring. He is currently an academy coach at Everton.
Also celebrating a birthday today is Harry Pell. He's just 20.
