Highlights from Fans Forum

A few comments from tonight's Fans Forum at Radfords.

The Gary and Jamie Show

Standing room only as Pitman and Peters enter the room.

Peters confirms he believes team is worst in the league. Talked to Pitman before agreeing contract with board.

Having to sign players in 3-400 a week as that's all the budget we have.

Pitman's first answer is bordering on shirty, some boos from the floor.

Question was about tactics. Pitman recites the bench from Villa, defends performance vs Shrews.

Pitman is right about injuries but he's not helping his cause with the way he's answering. A lot of "that's your opinion"

Pitman refers question about judging him by results to the Chairman.

Peters "we will be firefighting all season"

Peters "massive mistake at the start of last season" signing players on big wages

Peters on loanees- GT's loanees were good but added nothing to value of club. Looking for loanees he can sign afterwards and develop.

Pitman gets ripple of applause when he defends 'injury prone ' Stam signing. Talks of his quality.

Dan Connor's retirement enabled signing of Clist.

Peters says they tried to get Cornell released from duty but Flynn refused. Have to play Hoult Saturday.

In response to question about motivation from bench, Peters says he will watch from the stands initially.

Pitman- Harry's got to give us more as an end product.

Pitman - if this is a forum that is going to pick on (me) then I will get defensive.

Peters jokes about making the players watch the DVD as the fans have to watch them play. He's coming across well.

Half time. There's one or two in the 120 crowd that want nothing but an argument but Peters is handling them well.

And we're back. Question to Peters about new signings.

Peters says been watching six games a week youth and reserve recently. Has to be creative to attract signings due to budget and location.

Peters agrees management is too large. Situation will be assessed.

Pitman declines to declare a change in tactics for obvious reasons. Under no illusions Swindon will be tough.

Peters responds to question about Sneekes by saying everything will be assessed as part of his job.

Pitman cracks a joke! Must have had a half time team talk.

Pitman says he didn't face protestors on police advice, and he had his wife and kids with him. Apologises for sounding short. Big applause.

Pitman - narrowing the pitch makes us harder to beat.

Questioner asks if Pitman should quit. He says no. Questioner calls response arrogant. Majority of audience support Pitman in argument.

Both Peters and Pitman are talking about the importance of the January window. We might not see much transfer action before.

Peters on Pell - we'll play him when we can trust him not to make mistakes. Had long chat with him and he accepts it.

Peters asked if he wants managers job if offered. He say no, has bigger job than that. Board admitted to him they lack experience.

Both are saying they'll manage as a group of coaches.

Ipoua only in as an interpreter to get info across to French lads.

Peters says he hasn't signed deal yet. Wants to get a feel of the job first. Wants to get feel from fans that there is fight.

And that's it. People generally happier than when they came in.
