News Round-Up

Plymouth bidder Kevin Heaney has denied he has withdrawn from the race to buy the club. The Truro City owner says his bid remains on the table as the Administrator looks to other bids. The Supporters Trust has backed rival bidder James Brent, telling the BBC his offer is 'the only show in town'. Gillingham are trialling striker Njogu Demba-Nyren. The 32 year old ended last season with Notts County, scoring once in nine games.

Northampton have loaned striker Tadhg Purcell to former side Darlington for an initial month. The Irish forward scored nine times in 22 games for the Quakers but has played only four times in 15 months for the Cobblers. Former Bulls loanee Josh Gowling says he is to take a break from Twitter after coming under fire from Lincoln fans angry at the team's current form. The Imps are currently in the Conference drop zone with calls for manager Steve Tilson to quit.

Stockport bidder Tony Evans says his move to buy the club is now dead after talks were postponed by the club's board. Evans says the £200,000 sum he asked existing shareholders to cover was for sums not originally disclosed to him initially, and he has resigned as a director of the club. Bristol Rovers boss Paul Buckle says he does not have a problem with former Bulls midfielder Craig Stanley after having clear the air talks. Stanley sat out the last two games after reacting to being subbed against the Bulls.

Port Vale have confirmed that their previously announced investment deal with Ameriturf has been cancelled in the wake of their latest investment announcement. The Supporters Club will be asking the club's board questions about the deal after widespread scepticism over the announcement. Newport have given boss Anthony Hudson a vote of confidence after four straight defeats. The Exiles are in the Conference drop zone after just one win all season.

Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson says the £400,000 the Silkmen have generated in player sales so far this season are needed to keep the club afloat, however he hopes to get something out of it to bolster his squad.
