Players must be 'Ruthless' says Pitman

On the back of two league defeats, Hereford United manager Jamie Pitman has said that his players must be 'ruthless' at both ends of the pitch.

The Bulls haven't gained a point from either of their two League games to date. Nor have they scored in either game. However the visit of Macclesfield tomorrow will give the players the chance to put matters right.

"We've got to be ruthless in both boxes," Pitman told Press Association Sport.

"To take our chances and also stop the ball going into our net.

"If we do both sides of it then we'll win more games than we lose."

As mentioned in our preview of the game yesterday, Pitman will have to decide whether to continue with the pairing of Michael Townsend and Stefan Stam in the heart of defence, or whether to bring back Ryan Green to partner Stam as in the first League game at Southend and the Carling Cup-tie.

Stam took a knock in last Saturday's match but it is thought he will okay for tomorrow. Dan Connor will miss the game but otherwise Pitman is reported to have a fully-fit squad.
