Reaction from Pitman

Hereford United manager Jamie Pitman has given his reaction, following the home match with Stockport County, to BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"It was a game that was a must win one and we produced a very good performance. We were fairly comfortable", commented Pitman after the 3-0 home victory over Stockport.

Pitman was full of praise for Hereford's finishing, "Great finish from Manset, coming in on his right foot then Bauza comes on and finishes well for his".

Pitman answered a question on the recent upturn in form. "The staff are putting in good effort during the week, and there is a group of players who are honest, hard-working and have got ability. It was never going to happen over night."

Pitman said he didn't want to make any rash decisions, with regards bringing players in. "Got good players here who have started to gel together. Do not want to disrupt that while it's going well."

And with regards players heading out, Pitman said he was keen to keep Guillem Bauza. "His contract is up. We want to keep him here. Hopefully try and sort something out, and know something in the early part of next week"

When asked about interest in other players, Pitman responded boldly. "Other players? You mean Mathieu! He looks a good player. He's a strong, powerful lad who has now added goals to his game. If he keeps doing that, he's gonna get great interest.

"He has everything you want from a forward to play at any level."
