Guinan Expects January Move

Former Bulls striker, and managerial candidate, Steve Guinan says he is likely to leave Northampton in the January window.

Despite starting for the first time in two months, and scoring only his second goal of the season, Guinan told the press after the Cobblers' win over Forest Green that he still expected to depart:

"I'm still on the transfer list and I'm still trying to get myself away. I've had contact from a few clubs in the past week which the manager knows all about, it’s just a question of picking the right opportunity for me. At this moment in time the right deal hasn't come up but that might be different in January.

"I'm on a good contract at Northampton at the moment and people aren't coming up to scratch, which I don't expect them to. Perhaps it's something I'm going to have to look at in January."

Guinan was interviewed by the Bulls board for the managerial job after being a boardroom guest for Jamie Pitman's first game in charge.
