News Round Up

The League One relegation zone is about to get a twist after Hartlepool were charged with fielding an ineligible player in their 2-0 win over Brighton on Monday. Defender Gary Liddle should have been suspended for the game, meaning the likely punishment for the Monkey Hangers is to lose the three points they gained. If that is the case they'll slip back to 42 points, one clear of the bottom four.

Bradford have lost the services of giant defender Luke Oliver after Wycombe recalled him due to injuries. Morecambe defender Andy Parrish has signed a new two year deal with the club. Crewe boss Dario Gradi has defended his position as manager, saying that the production of young players is more important than results: "We need to produce players that are good enough to be sold to survive as a football club. It is as simple as that."

Cambridge have a 'top eight' budget for next season. Boss Martin Ling says that former Bull Mark Beesley will be released in the summer. Beesley is currently on loan at Telford. Cheltenham have racked up their 500th game as a Football League club.
