Mariners Keep Survival Hopes Alive

Grimsby beat the Bulls 1-0 at Edgar Street today to keep their slim hopes of staying up alive.

The visitors started brightly but, after half an hour, faded badly and spent the remainder of the game timewasting and stretching the rules of the game to breaking point. Keeper Nick Colgan was booked for a handball outside the box, and others received cards for petty fouls and timewasting as they clung on to the three points. The 309 visitors, in the crowd of 2,143, soon went quiet as scores elsewhere put their efforts to waste.

The Bulls stay 16th in the table, 13 points and ten goals better off than the Mariners with 15 points left to play for.

Full report later.
