News Round Up

The taxman takes three sides to court today in a bid to recover unpaid tax. Portsmouth (£7.5million), Cardiff (£2.5million), and Southend (£205,000) all face the court, although Southend contest that they had already overpaid on their previous court date for £2.15million and owe nothing more. UPDATE: Both Southend and Cardiff have been given 28 days to settle with the taxman, while Portsmouth have seven days to prove they can pay their creditors. The taxman's QC said of Pompey: "It's quite clear, beyond any doubt at all, that this company is insolvent."

Notts County keeper Kasper Schmeichel has been accused of damaging a dressing room door in frustration while they were 2-0 down at Bournemouth last night. Carlisle will face Southampton in the JPT final at Wembley in March, but they may also face an FA inquiry after Leeds boss Simon Grayson told the press some of his players were attacked after the Cumbrians won 6-5 on penalties in their match at Brunton Park last night.
