Hall and Shrewsbury

In an interview with the Shrewsbury Vital site, BBC Hereford and Worcester's Keith Hall has been talking about tomorrow's game and the Prostar Stadium.

Hall was asked what he thought of Shrewsbury's new stadium.

Facilities within the stadium are excellent, although the media space inside the ground could be better managed. The worst aspect of the new stadium is a lack of foresight into car parking spaces and its consequential impact onto surrounding residents and businesses. Both Shrewsbury Town FC and Shropshire County Council are equally culpable in my book and ought to have handled the development more professionally with an integrated parking programme.

Is John Trewick still the man for the job?

It's been a very difficult start to his 'managerial' career to date. Whether he would point to a limited wage budget as a restrictive element I'm not sure, but certainly his coaching skills have been recognised off the pitch by a succession of former players, so time will tell.

Who have been your star players so far?

Goalkeeper Adam Bartlett started the season in fine form, quickly establishing himself as a dependable player and penalty saving hero. Ryan Green's excellent return has been stifled by injury recently, but up front 'the Beast' Mathieu Manset, and the Canadian striker Gavin McCallum have also shown promise. The former Shrew Marc Pugh has also produced some match winning displays and will be looking for another on Saturday!

What are your hopes for the rest of the season?

The Bulls must quickly turnaround their away record and, if they can, it's not unrealistic to set a top-ten finish as a realistic objective. United's home form ought to be a great platform to move forward from. I would like to see a more ambitious and expansive approach taken, but pace is the key.

What will the final score be?

I suspect it'll be an all-action 1-1 draw with plenty of incident, cards and a genuine battle.
