Former Hereford United loanee striker Sherjill MacDonald (Shergar) has turned down to chance to move to Standard Liege from his current club Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen.
"The clubs had already reached an agreement, so that was why I decided to open negotiations with Standard. However, they were unable to convince me to make the move," said MacDonald to Het Laatste Nieuws.
"It's not a big deal to me though. I was never really interested in leaving GBA this winter. I will stay at my current club at least until the end of the season. We'll see what happens after that."
The 25-year-old MacDonald started his career at Ajax and has also had spells at Anderlecht, Heracles, Hamburger SV, AGOVV, West Bromwich Albion, Hereford United and Roeselare before joining GBA last summer.
