News Round Up

Bournemouth have been told their transfer embargo will only be lifted when they have cleared their outstanding debts. Former Accrington chairman Eric Whalley has left his role with Chester. He remains Accrington's largest shareholder with the sale of his shares still not final, and rumours persist that he will return to the club.

Lincoln are claimed to have beaten Darlington to the signing of midfielder Clark Keltie despite the Quakers announcing his signing last week. The Quakers will resign veteran defender Alan White after he was transfer listed by Luton, and hope to secure a deal for Irish full back Simon Madden. Aldershot have rejected an offer from a League One side for striker Marvin Morgan. Boss Kevin Dillon hints the offer came from Wycombe, describing the bid as a pittance.

Ex-Bull Danny Thomas is set to sign a deal to keep him at Kettering until the end of the season. Ex-Bull Tim Sills is expected to join a Conference side in the next week after a string of enquiries to Torquay for his services. Redditch's winding up order has been brought about by a former chairman of the club, who was guarantor on a club debt that he was forced to pay up on.

Port Vale chairman Bill Bratt is in hospital again and has undergone more surgery. He had an operation last summer, and will be away from the club for some time. Peterboro say their signing of Grimsby's Ryan Bennett will be a club record, meaning it will be more than the £400,000 paid for goalkeeper Joe Lewis. The deal will be completed on Friday, and could be worth £1million to the Mariners.

Rotherham's home match with Shrewsbury has been picked for live Sky coverage on February 22nd. Notts County's home match with Bournemouth has also been selected for coverage in March. Barnet have signed ex-Chelsea trainee Lee Sawyer to a short term deal. The 20 year old midfielder was released by the Premier side in November after loans at Southend, Coventry, and Wycombe.
