ESG is Seven Years Old

The ESG (Edgar Street Grid) idea is now seven years old and as yet has little to show for the millions of pounds spent on it.

Whilst various proposals have been suggested by the ESG to re-generate the centre of Hereford, there appears little consenus as to whether their ideas are right for the historic city.

Next Monday, there is a public meeting in the Courtyard organised by the 'It's OUR City' campaign.

On Monday 19th October at 7:00 pm, the Courtyard Theatre will host our second public meeting – come and hear from campaign leaders and volunteers as well as a guest appearance from Jonathon Bretherton, the Chief Executive of ESG.

This is a ticketed event, and tickets can be obtained for free from the It’s Our City Campaign HQ, upstairs in Maylord Orchards shopping center.

We look forward to another packed out evening, showing the big developers that this is our city!

The meeting might be an opportunity for Hereford United supporters to have their say about the future of the city and perhaps ask the ESG about whether it could support the re-development of the football ground.

Meanwhile the HCS, Hereford Civic Society, are caling for 'an immediate public enquiry into the whole farcical process' of the EGS.

Finally, according to the Hereford Times, the majority of youngsters attending a lively ESG discussion at Hereford Sixth Form gave the thumbs down to Hereford’s planned Edgar Street Grid (ESG) development during a major debate.
