The Bulls entertain Accrington in a League Two match at Edgar Street on Saturday.
The Bulls haven't lost a home match against Stanley in six attempts, winning three and drawing three. Most notable of those matches was in March 2006, when an Accy side marching toward the Conference title was halted by the Bulls. With the Bulls two down after an hour they hit back through Stuart Fleetwood and Nicky Nicolau to draw the game and frustrate the irate visitors.
For many Bulls fans Saturday is a do-or-die game. A club record of 16 League matches without a game must be ended with a victory over the pre-season relegation favourites or the tide will surely turn against the rookie manager. Having made-do with just six subs last week, a blank midweek will have seen much of the illness and injury hopefully cleared for Saturday's attempt to erase the zero in the win column. Only Jonny Godsmark and Darren Dennehy remain longer term casualties.
For Stanley, what they have - they hold. Their 20 professionals are all they're allowed with their current embargo due to their tax demand. Due to injuries their seven man bench had 15 League starts between them last week, with two youth teamers making up the numbers, while their entire squad didn't have the League experience of Kenny Lunt. Their away form shows them hard to beat, with Rotherham scraping past them on the opening day and Bury losing 2-0 to them on their last trip. They come into the match on the back of three straight wins.
