The ESG (Edgar Street Grid) are to unveil their plans for a new link road across Hereford which will decimate the excellent Merton Meadow parking facilites now enjoyed by supporters coming to watch Hereford United.
The plans will be on show at a three day public exhibition opening at Hereford Town Hall on Wednesday, September 23 (Opening Times: Wednesday 10am to 5pm; Thursday, 1pm to 8pm; Friday, 10am to 4pm.). The public can comment on them ahead of any application for planning permission being applied for.
"This road would follow the route fixed by the Council some years ago, but we have taken considerable care over reviewing how best to build it. By re-routing traffic from the highly congested Blueschool/Newmarket street it will relieve pressure on the city centre, but will not be adding extra traffic on to other areas such as Aylestone Hill," Said Jonathan Bretherton, chief executive at ESG.
The road will run from Edgar Street across Merton Meadow, Widemarsh Street and Station Approach to link up with Commercial Road at the Morrison's junction.
