Ex-Bull Watch

John Eustace gave away a penalty as Watford drew with Leicester. Adam Stansfield scored twice as Exeter beat Tranmere in his first start of the season after injury. Tamika Mkandawire scored a late consolation for Leyton Orient as they lost at Stockport. Anwar Uddin put through his own net as Grays lost heavily to Altrincham. Brian Smikle scored as Kidderminster beat Gateshead. Matt Bailey scored for Northwich as they won at Gainsborough.

In the League of Wales, Tony Pennock came out of retirement to help former club Port Talbot on Friday night. The Swansea youth coach, 38, last played for Newport more than a year ago, but couldn't stop his former side lose to Aberystwyth 2-1. Andy Moran scored for Prestatyn asn they won at Carmarthen 2-1.

Meanwhile Matt Clarke's first managerial job is turning into a bit of a nightmare. His Halesowen side, with the fans boycotting the club in protest at owner Morrell Maison, is now in Administration and he faces the prospect of losing star striker Stefan Moore: "Stefan is under contract but the bid has unsettled him as Farnborough offered to double his money. Stefan claimed he didn't want to play full-time football anymore and was happy at Halesowen but I fear this might have turned his head. It's naughty tactics from Farnborough and such a coincidence that we play them today. I might well have something more to say about it." Farnborough won the game 4-1.

In other news John Grant says he's likely to quit full time football at the end of the season to move back to Manchester and get into youth work after becoming disillusioned at the lack of first team games: "You do the training and you want the prize of playing in the first team at the end of the week. There's no prize at the moment but I can't take it too personally. There are other people in the team as well who are going through the same pain that I'm going through. It just shows that you care that you want to play."

Grant has made just five sub appearances this term, and only scored seven times in his first season back in the League last term.

On the managerial front, John Snape's Bromsgrove beat Aylesbury 5-0 to move up to ninth in the Southern League Midland division. Jon Brady's Brackley Town beat Clevedon 2-1 to go fourth in the table, with the 34 year old manager coming on as a second half sub for the Southern League Premier side. Nicky Law's Alfreton lost 5-3 at home to Stalybridge in the Conf North to slip to seventh in the table.
