FL Wait On Magpies Owners Identity

The Football League are still waiting on proof of who actually owns Notts County, a month after the club said that the takeover had been ratified.

The FL need to satisfy themselves on the 'fit and proper person' test, with neither of the two named frontmen to the Munto Finance bid actual shareholders in the organisation. FL rules say the test is only required after a purchase of a club, not before like the Premier League.

The Mirror quotes a FL spokesman: "The Football League has received Fit and Proper Persons documentation from the club's directors. Discussions are ongoing with regard to the club's ownership structure."

The paper adds that the club faces severe sanctions if it does not reveal it's true ownership, and that a number of League Two rivals have complained about their wage structure amid claims that they have broken the 60% of turnover rules.

Meanwhile, the latest player to be linked to the club is Aston Villa striker Marlon Harewood, who started his career with Nottm Forest.
