Preview: Bulls vs Brighton

The Bulls entertain Brighton in a rearranged League One match on Tuesday night.

Even with 'that' match, the Bulls have a five match unbeaten run stretching back to 1976 to defend on Tuesday night, and the Seagulls only win at Edgar Street came in a 1970 FA Cup meeting. It was the FA Cup six months after 'that' match that gave the Bulls some revenge on losing their league status, while earlier this season the two sides shared a goalless draw at the Withdean Stadium in October with both showing several changes to the playing personnel since.

For the Bulls this is it. With games rapidly running out there is a definite need for three points. This is as real a six-pointer as they come and - like times past - the Bulls need to secure the win to maintain their status. Last time a goalkeeper was dropped due to his Brighton loving wife. I doubt we'll have the same problem with the Scot, Hungarian, or Portugese - I'm not certain any of them are actually married! - our only concern is that whoever turns out keeps a clean sheet, tiszta lepedő, or folha limpa. I hope those online translators are right!

We hope Brighton will be fielding Kerry Mayo on Tuesday night. The fine defender, a one club veteran until a month at Lewes earlier in the season to boost his fitness, has fought his way back from injury to help his teammates in their hour of need. If he can score another own goal like he did in 1997 we'd be very grateful! Goals may be the Seagulls' problem after both Glenn Murray and Nicky Forster were ruled out for the season leaving their survival in the hands of Cheltenham cash refugee Lloyd 'Elbows' Owusu, who took revenge on his flattening from a Matt Murray rocket by helping to batter a trio of central defenders out of the match at Whaddon Road.

Hereford United vs Brighton and Hove Albion, Edgar Street, Tuesday 7th April, 7.45pm.
