The Bulls entertain Scunthorpe on Saturday in a difficult looking League One match.
It's been 12 seasons since the two sides met in the League but the Bulls hold two more recent Football League Trophy wins over the Irons, who have lost on their last five trips to Edgar Street. The most recent was in December 2005 when Adam Stansfield and Tamika Mkandawire scored before half time to give the Bulls a 2-0 win over a side two divisions higher.
The Bulls have a mini injury crisis at the moment that will keep new physio Jamie Pitman busy. With Robbie Threlfall ruled out until the end of the year, Bulls fans will hope for better news on Moses Ashikodi and Andy Williams and a successful - injury free - run out in the reserves on Wednesday for both Karl Broadhurst and new signing Nick Chadwick.
Scunthorpe currently lie third in the table after winning four of their six games so far, with eight of their twelve goals coming away from home. They come to Edgar Street on the back of five straight wins, including a JPT win over Notts County, after losing their opening three matches. With six goals already this season, ex-Bull Gary Hooper is still looking to be a value signing despite the auction frenzy that saw his sale price quadruple.
Hereford United vs Scunthorpe United, Edgar Street, Saturday 20th September, 3.00pm.
