Chester City have sacked Bobby Williamson after just nine months in charge at the Deva Stadium according to BBC Sport.
Chester are currently 17th in League Two. They have only won one of their last fourteen games after a good start to the season.
The Bulls drew 1-1 with them at the Deva Stadium in October. The two clubs meet again on April 5th at Edgar Street.
Just over two weeks Chester sacked assistant manager Jimmy Bone.
And last week Bulls News reported speculation from Mansfield's Billy Dearden that the Chester players were not being paid their wages on time.
In another sign that there may be problems at Chester midfielder Stephen Vaughan junior and defender Sean Newton were sent to Blue Square Premier club Droylsden on loan.
Back in January Stephen Vaughan senior, who is understood to be the owner of Chester City, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court to face fraud and theft offences. He pleaded not guilty to six charges relating to fraud and theft offences and was given bail pending a trial expected in July.
According to the Liverpool Echo: Vaughan denied obtaining two finance agreements by deception and stealing a Mercedes CL500 and an Aston Martin DB9 from the finance companies.
He also denied two offences of obtaining motor insurance from Royal and Sun Alliance and Norwich Union by deception by saying he had no driving convictions.
The offences by Vaughan, who stood down as chairman of Chester FC in December, allegedly occurred between March 2005 and March 2006.
