Despite speculation over the weekend that manager Gary Peters might be leaving Shrewsbury he was back at his desk this morning according to the Shropshire Star.
Rob Bickerton, the Shrewsbury MD, 'declined to directly comment' on Peters future but was said to have 'acknowledged rumours' about the manager's future.
Shrewsbury have dropped to 16th in League Two after their 4-1 defeat at Barnet last Saturday. They have taken just six points out of a possible thirty-six in their last twelve matches including a defeat by Hereford United.
Meanwhile Chester are looking for their seventh manager in seven seasons after Bobby Williamson was sacked by the club yesterday.
According to the Chester press Ken McKenna, currently with TNS, is rumoured to be in with a chance. They also mention former Wrexham boss Denis Smith as a possible candidate.
