Altrincham have revealed a £70,000 profit for last season at their AGM last night. The profit was mainly down to a £75,000 sell on clause received from Accrington's sale of Ian Craney but also included costs of erecting new floodlights and turnstiles. The club have ruled out turning full time, citing players moving between Conference clubs for wages of £1,700 a week. It is some time since Alty turned in any significant losses.
Just hours after scoring the winning penalty at Stadium:MK, Drewe Broughton will almost certainly finish his MK Dons career. Having spent the last month on loan at Wrexham he is expected to return there for the bulk of the rest of the season. Ex-Bull John Grant may miss the rest of the season after being stretchered off during Saturday's win over Tamworth. A broken leg has been ruled out but there is heavy ligament damage and the club are waiting on test results.
Accrington have signed Charlton defender Paulo Montiero on loan for a month. The Portugese former u-21 international signed for the Addicks at the start of the month on a short term contract from Romanian football and needs match fitness to prove his worth to the Championship side. Macclesfield have lost goalkeeper coach David Rouse to QPR.
Wrexham could be back in Europe after the FAW opened talks with UEFA over their policy of not allowing clubs competing outside their own FA to enter European competition. UEFA's rules forced six 'exiled' clubs to abandon hopes of Europe in 1995.
