Gary Hooper will play his last game of his current loan deal for Hereford United this evening at Dagenham.
However it looks as though the loan will be extended and an announcment to that effect should happen in the next day or two. If agreed it is thought he would be able to take part in every game for the remainder of the season except, perhaps, the last one which is at Edgar Street against Grimsby on May 3rd. A loan can run for 93days and much will depend on the exact timing of the paperwork. Hooper was reported to have joined the Bulls on January 28th.
Hooper's Southend have won four of their last six games including a 3-0 win at Yeovil last Saturday. They are currently seventh in League One.
Hooper's first game for the Bulls was against Barnet when he failed to hit the back of the net. His second was at Rotherham when he scored the only goal of the game. And he has gone on to score in every game since including two last Saturday at Shrewsbury.
Last Thursday manager Graham Turner told BBC Hereford and Worcester he would like to extend Hooper's loan.
"The vibes are quite good although I've not spoken to Southend yet."
