A few weeks ago this evening's game at the Glyn Hopkin Stadium looked an away banker but Dagenham's form has improved recently and the Bulls may need to be at their best to take all three points.
The latest odds reflect the situation:
Hereford 5/4, Dagenham 7/4, Draw 9/4
Dagenham have defeated Chester, Grimsby and Morecambe in their last three games and manager John Still is expected to keep to an unchanged starting eleven which will include former loanee at Edgar Street, and Dagenham captain, Anwar Uddin.
In those three games the Daggers have scored twelve goals and moved out of the relegation area. However they are still without striker Paul Benson who recently fractured his leg.
In fact Dagenham haven't looked back since their 4-1 defeat at Edgar Street on February 9th.
However Hereford's recent run of victories is even better than Dagenham's. The Bulls have defeated Rotherham, Dagenham, Rochdale, Chesterfield and Shrewsbury in their last five outings scoring 13 goals in the process.
It now looks as though last month's defeat at Chesterfield and defeat at Edgar Street by Barnet were nothing more than a temporary set-back to manager Graham Turner's asperations of taking the Bulls up to League One.
Since those couple of League defeats Turner has used the loan system to real advantage with the arrival at Edgar Street of Gary Hooper and Sherjill MacDonald. Both have scored six goals since joining.
The Bulls have an excellent record away from home this season - they have won eleven out of their sixteen games - and if they can take all three points will go top of the league as MK Dons are without a League game this mid-week.
Meanwhile there are five League Two matches this evening in which several of the top teams are involved.
However should Hereford draw, or even lose, then Peterborough could move into second place assuming they defeat bottom-placed Wrexham.
