Much as before for Purdie

Rob Purdie is the ulimate utility player. When with Hereford United he played in virtually every position on the pitch except in goal. Now with Darlington it's much the same.

Purdie hasn't played many games lately but was back in Darlington's side last Tuesday at Notts County.

"Now that I’m in, I want to stay in," Purdie told the Darlington Gazette. "I have come on at some point in most of the games but I want to be a regular starter.

"I enjoyed the game and I have reached the point where I will happily play anywhere as long as I’m involved, particularly if I start."

Purdie says he is delighted to be with Darlington but would like to start scoring again as he did with Hereford.

"I would love to get on the scoresheet soon. It’s a bit disruptive when I have to play in so many different positions, but I want to score. I have not had many chances, but maybe that is down to me. I have to try and get in the right positions."

Purdie believes the move to the North-east has furthered his career but notes how well the Bulls are doing this season.

"Even if Hereford went up and we didn’t I would still feel it has been a good move for me. I have developed as a player here and feel mentally stronger for it.”
