Fleetwood Deal Agreed

Crewe have agreed a transfer fee with Forest Green for ex-Bull Stuart Fleetwood.

The deal, which is believed to be Crewe's fourth bid for the striker, is to be finalised once personal terms are discussed. Forest Green have issued a statement confirming that a deal has been reached, and permission has been given for the Railwaymen to speak to Fleetwood.

Fleetwood, 21, failed to score in his final 18 league appearances for the Bulls, including a loan spell at Accrington where he struggled to get into their team. The run prompted his release from Edgar Street, despite early promise, and he moved to Forest Green on a free transfer.

The Gloucester press is suggesting that the deal is for £175,000 plus add-ons which could lift the price to £200,000. It also reports that Rovers boss Jim Harvey is known to be on good terms with Crewe technical director Dario Gradi. Finally it says that Forest Green may hold out for a better offer from 'Championship admirers Charlton Athletic and Plymouth Argyle'.
