Although both Rob Purdie and Andy Williams have moved on, Hereford United manager Graham Turner has told BBC Hereford and Worcester in an extended interview that both players kept him informed whilst they were deciding what to do whereas some others didn't.
"Rob kept me informed of everything that he was doing; he came in to see me a couple of times.
"I improved his offer but, in the end, he had an offer from Darlington that he couldn't refuse, but he did keep me informed.
"[With] Alan Connell; I think that there was one phone call, but I didn't hear anything more from him.
"The Football League regulations state that you should inform your existing club by 18 or 19 June whether you accept or refuse that offer; we're still waiting for that letter of confirmation.
"It's annoying and it's unfortunate - Simon Travis was the same - he didn't get his letter in to us, so we withdrew our offers to them."
Turner also spoke about the latter part of the season just ended.
"After going to Lincoln, and after one or two other performances late on, we felt that we had a good chance of making the play-offs, and it just didn't happen for us.
"I'm not sure whether the players couldn't deal with that extra pressure, but I felt that we needed a change; I felt that everything wasn't right in the dressing room for the last six to eight weeks of the season.
"The players were just waiting for the end of the season and their holidays, so there have been a lot of changes, and we haven't got too many [players remaining] from last season.
"We need a couple of strikers, and a left winger, hopefully with a bit of pace."
