The first opportunity to take a look at the new signings and, no doubt, a few trialists comes this week as The Bulls (currently 11th in League 2) take on local team Pegasus Juniors at Old School Lane. "Peggy" play in the Sport Italia Hellenic Premier League and hope to provide good opposition for the debuting Bulls despite being short of several back division players. When Bulls News visited the ground this afternoon the playing surface was found to be in superb condition. Pegasus spokesman, Steve Griffiths, said "a lot of work has gone on during the close season and the recent rain has certainly helped us in our pitch preparations. We will be missing some of our main defensive line-up but still expect to show what our football is about and give them a good game."
The Old School Lane ground can be found by leaving the City centre in the direction of Leominster (A49), passing the Leisure Centre on your left. At the Holmer roundabout, take the third exit towards Worcester (Roman Road) and then the first right into Old School Lane. The ground is just 200 yards on your left but drivers are advised to continue a further 250 yards and park on the former "Wire Mill" car park which will be stewarded by Pegasus officials. Admission is £5 for adults, £3 for U16's and kick-off is scheduled for 7.30pm.
Pre-match thirst quenching is available at The Starting Gate (adj. Holmer roundabout), The Bridge Inn (College Road) and The Rose Gardens in nearby Coldwells Road, Holmer. Bulls News has also received unconfirmed reports that fans from as far away as Barnet will be attending and, indeed, posing for photographs at The Rose Gardens during the pre-match festivities.
