Reaction from Shrewsbury

When supporters start to leave a ground well before the end of a game, it usually tails a story and today was no exception at the Gay Meadow.

Shrewsbury fans seemed unhappy that manager Gary Peters hasn't find a striker to augment his squad and several told BBC Radio Shropshire after the game that they might start to watch Telford where goals were more plentiful.

John McMahon, the Shrewsbury assistant manager, thought that his side had done well in spells.

"We started the game very positive. Took the game to Hereford but you have got to score when you are on top," McMahon said when interviewed by Radio Shropshire

"Credit to Hereford they did defend well.

"I think they set their stall out from the offset to not concede and make it difficult for us.

"In the main it was us who were going to score other than the odd breakaway by Hereford.

"We are all disappointed that we are not scoring goals."

Asked how his team would go about the replay at Edgar Street McMahon continued:

"We'll go there very positive. Hereford will have to come out a little bit more at home. Their fans will expect and demand that."

Dave Edwards, who played for the Shrews today, was also interviewed and pointed out that his side can't get the ball into the back of the net.

"We had the best of the game, passed the ball well, but the final ball wasn't good enough today. We should have won that game.

"They had a few half decent chances but we had most of them.

"Hereford came here and have done a professional job. They rode their luck a little bit in the first half but second half they got behind the ball.

"They weren't bad on the break either."
