FA Cup Round Up

There were two 'giantkilling' shocks in today's First Round games. Most notable is Basingstoke winning 1-0 at League One Chesterfield, though Rushden's 3-1 win over Yeovil is also a fine result.

No League Two sides lost to lower graded opposition, though several dipped out to League sides. Torquay were one down in two minutes at home to Leatherhead but second half goals saw them through 2-1. Bristol Rovers were three up and cruising until a late Barrow fightback saw them nearly snatch a draw with the game ending 3-2. Stockport, at Exeter, and Barnet, at Gainsborough, both squandered early leads but eventually ran out winners.

Big hitters of the round so far are Brighton, who stuffed eight past Northwich without reply. Nottm Forest scored five at home to Yeading, with Junior Agogo scoring twice.
