We want our reward says Travis

Simon Travis has told the Hereford Times that losing out in the play-offs two years running has made the side more determined than ever to do well this time around.

"The lads were disappointed over the last couple of years that we haven't been able to do it which can only go to make us more determined," he said.

"We have been there and lost out twice, we know how it feels and we know how disappointing and upsetting it is, not just for us as players but also for the fans and for the gaffer.

"We put in a lot of the hard work during the year and we want our reward for it.

"I don't think losing twice before is a disadvantage at all, I think we can only take positives from it.

"If we have one or two goals down, we have always fought and come back well.

"We have built this season on a good defensive record, but we can score goals as well. We've been in some sticky situations but we have come through them and we would look to do the same in the play-offs.

"We have a lot of depth in this squad, a lot of mobility and a lot of young lads who are hungry.

"There are a few lads in the squad who have not experienced the play-offs before. That could be an advantage to us and the lads who have been there before are determined to put things right.

"We have strong squads in each of the past three years. But this year, the gaffer has brought in some very good players, players who can play in a number of positions and that keeps the pressure on the starting 11.

"Everyone is kept on their toes and again that is an advantage - we have people like Rob Purdie who can play either side and can play full-back, I can play in a few different position and you have to keep the lads on their toes so that they are playing to the best of their ability.

"Obviously we all do that anyway, we all want to give 100% and keep our positions in the team and take this club into League 2.

"All we can do is give 100%, do our best and what will be will be."
