Hereford United closed the gap on Accrington Stanley at the top of the Conference to 13 points with a 2-1 win at Southport last night.
However although the Bulls went 2-0 ahead, they appeared to step down a gear after half-time and let 'Port back into the game.
Around 100 Hereford supporters made the trip. For many the final whistle couldn't come soon enough as the Bulls struggled to hold onto their lead.
Hereford are still short of several players. John Trewick, the coach, was named as a substitute. Andy Williams had to leave the field when a ball hit him in the face and caused a nose-bleed and Nicky Nicolau was also subbed later in the game possibly as a precaution. He has been carrying an injury.
Full report to follow.
