Wrexham Win Stadium Fight

Wrexham's future as a Football League club looks secure after Appeal Court Judges rejected an appeal from former Chairman Alex Hamilton over the ownership of the Racecourse Ground.

Hamilton, who illegally transferred the ground into his own company's ownership, lost the initial battle in October but lodged an appeal soon afterwards. He had a spell as Chairman from May to October 2004, and took the club into Administration.

The sale of Wrexham can now take place. Should the club have lost the case they would have been unable to leave Administration, which would have made them the first club to fall foul of Football League rules over the length of time a club can be in Administration, meaning the club was likely to be thrown out of the League in June.
