Crawley Fans Get Warning Over Police

Crawley Police have warned fans that a repeat of the pitch invasion and other incidents that occured prior to last weeks match may force Police to increase their presence at the Broadfield Stadium.

Each individual officer costs the club a minimum of £200 plus VAT depending on rank, with the Police saying seven will be deployed at the stadium if fans repeat their protest of last week against the current owners. This bill, for six PCs, one Sargeant and control room staff, will come close to £2000 per game.

The Police have also warned that, with Crawley struggling to stay afloat, failure to pay the Police bill will see games being cancelled on safety grounds - a move that will incur sanctions from the FA.
