According to the Exeter Express and Echo, Exeter City chairman Dave Treharne will raise the issue of televised coverage at the next meeting of his Conference counterparts at Burton Albion on January 19.
The Grecians are set to lose an estimated £28,000 if they are forced to switch their fixture with Accrington to January 30 for the purposes of live screening on Sky Sports.
The £5,000 the home team receives as part of the contract between the Conference and Sky will be dwarfed by the huge sums forecast to be lost due to reduced gate receipts.
Club bosses are appealing against the move and a decision is expected to be reached by the end of the week. The contract that Conference chiefs signed with Sky guaranteed they would be able to deliver games which would have a big bearing on promotion.
"We are not at all certain whether we have a right to appeal or not," he said. "I have to say that the Conference have been quite sympathetic - but we are no nearer knowing when this game will go ahead. It is such a grey area," said Treherne.
He has already lobbied York City and Hereford United to back his stance and expects other clubs to similarly seek assurances that televised coverage will not have a negative impact on finances.
Treharne added: "This an issue I am intending to raise. The situation needs to be far clearer and there needs to be some sort of direct structure in place because at the moment it is a grey area.
"From our point of view there are such compelling reasons for having it on the Saturday that we hope we are going to get it resolved."
