Managing Director Ian Huxham, a lifelong Exeter supporter, has quit St James Park after just over two years at the helm.
Huxham was one of the leading lights in the Supporters Trust takeover of the club in mid 2003 and took on the Managing Director role shortly after to restructure the club's finances and keep the club afloat. His job was made somewhat easier when Exeter drew Man Utd in the FA Cup last season to effectively clear the debts of a club that was under a CVA.
Despite this piece of good forture existing high value player contracts meant that the budget was slashed this season, and after a strong start to the season on the field the ongoing off-field problems had risen back to the surface with Chairman Dave Treharne warning last month that things weren't quite as rosy as some people thought.
Huxham's decision to quit is believed to be over some harsh criticism he has received lately, especially over his £40,000 salary, but neither Exeter City, the Supporters Trust, nor Huxham himself has commented on the situation as yet.
