Pitman hopes to be fit
Jamie Pitman is hopeful that he will be able to play in Hereford United's opening game of the season against Farnborough at Edgar Street on August 14th.
The midfielder, who recently had surgery on a hernia problem that he carried for much of the second half of last season, has spent the last week at Lilleshall's Football Centre regaining his fitness.
"I'll definitely be ready for the start of the season," Pitman told the Evening News.
"I've been working 9-5 at Lilleshall, doing strength work and some good rehabilitation. I've done a lot of flexibility stuff and plenty of bike work on the hills around Lilleshall. Hopefully when I get back I can take on board a lot of the stuff I've picked up here and do extra stuff in the afternoon after training."
"I just want to desperately get back and play after the disappointment of last season, though we have to look at the positive side and see what a great year we had and build on that.
"It was a great year and doing all this hard work at Lilleshall makes you realise just how great it is to actually just play and I can't wait to get back."
Pitmam also talked about the return of Tamika Mkandawire to Hereford United.
"It's great for competition for places and will be beneficial to the side, That's what we need. Everybody pushing each and playing to their potential.
"Tamika came on loan and did very well and now he's here for a year hopefully he can settle in and do even better. There is no doubting his qualities."
