Ammonds Pleased With Fans Forum

After this afternoon's fans forum Hereford Chairman Chris Ammonds spoke to Trevor Owens for BBC Hereford and Worcester.

Owens suggested it had been a very respectful meeting given both the on and off pitch problems.

"I didn't really expect anything different," said Ammonds.

"I said at the start you might not like what I say or you might not agree with what I say but I will try and give you as honest an answer as I can.

"Some really, really good questions, some perfectly understandable questions given our current position.

"I was really pleased with it.

"Hopefully people have gone away, again they might not agree with things I said or things that we are doing but they go away at least thinking we know how things are, that's all you co do.

"The whole thing is complex, clearly it's stemming from an issue with our pitch and us having to look at options elsewhere.

"Ideally we won't play any games away from Edgar Street but the National League want to be reassured that we have got contingency plans in place.

"But we can't talk about it until we have things almost set in stone and it's got to be agreed with the National League first.

"Our dream is not to play any games away from here if we can avoid it but we have got to be realistic given the fact that it doesn't look that it's ever going to stop raining.

"In an ideal world they will be as close to Hereford as possible but other clubs have games to play themselves, there are ground sharing agreements already in place at other clubs.

"If we go to a lower ranked club it's complicated because in theory our games should take priority but if you were that team are you going to give up your home game for one of ours.

"But I want to reiterate again we don't want to play any games away from here."
