A frustrated Hereford boss Paul Caddis has said individual errors and a lack of desire let his side down against Bedford Town on Tuesday.
Caddis said his side showed character to come back from two goals down to earn a point but he was disappointed with the first half - again.
An unchanged starting XI would have been hoping to kick on from Saturday's 2-0 win over Alfreton and bag the side's third win of the season, but goals from the unmarked Ryan Blake and Tyrone Marsh inside the first 16 minutes pegged the side back.
Caddis blamed individual errors on the sucker punch start that left his side facing an uphill battle, but also mentioned a lack of communication with "small details causing a lot of issues at the moment", something he finds "really, really frustrating".
With his side already conceding five goals in the first five minutes of their opening seven matches, Caddis added: "The players will be fed up listening to this word; football's 90 per cent mentality.
"I'm telling you right now, I was lucky enough to have a career - it's 90% mentality, the rest is ability and right now the mentality is letting us down."
When asked by BBC Hereford and Worcester's Carson Wishart after the 2-2 draw whether it was a case of not switching on from the first whistle, Caddis replied: "It's difficult because it's trying to put your finger on it at times.
"It's not as if we're trying to build possession and losing slack passes and getting punished really deep.
"It's just sometimes it comes down to errors individually. It comes down to having a desire to keep the ball out the net, to stop a cross, to stop a shot."
He said the Bulls, who currently lie 20th with seven points from seven games, had been good at that over the last two seasons but "right now, it's letting us down".
