Chorley manager Andy Preece felt Hereford's goal that won yesterday's game was a poor one to give away.
In a very fair assessment of the game he also talked about niggly fouls being part of the game which Hereford used to their advantage.
"I was really pleased with the first ten minutes up until their goal,"said Preece.
"That knocked us out of our stride.
"I think it was probably the first time they really entered our half.
"When you're away at Hereford and start so well you don't want to be giving them some hope.
"It's a poor goal from us. That's self-inflicted.
"Those are the things that kick you in the teeth when you are playing well.
"Half time I was quite pleased how we were doing but second half I felt we just petered out.
"They managed the game really well, we created hardly anything.
"Probably that little bit of know-how we lacked.
"Sometimes you have got to be clever.
"Hereford were clever, clever fouls. Fouls where you bring someone back or you make a challenge and don't get booked for it. That's a clever foul. It breaks the rhythem of the game, it slows things down.
"They did that well, it's part of the game, it's not a criticism, it's exactly what we would do. So fair play to them."
