One of the talking points at Edgar Street was the HUST resolution to change the name of the club from Hereford FC to Hereford United.
The resolution contains the words 'with immediate effect' which might imply that the name change would take place immediately should the resolution be passed.
This is the resolution:
That, in accordance with the powers vested in the shareholders of Hereford FC, the Football Team name be changed from 'Hereford FC' to 'Hereford United Football Club', with immediate effect. It is further resolved that this change shall only apply to the team's public-facing name and branding, and it shall not alter the registered legal name of the company, which shall remain 'Hereford FC Ltd'.
BN understands 'with immediate effect' can't happen.
A request to change the club's name has to be with the FA by December 31st 2024 so that any change can come into effect by the start of next season.
