In the only National North League fixture this evening Spennymoor have defeated Banbury.
Final score: Spennymoor 5 Banbury 2
The result is bad news for Hereford as Spennymoor move up to 8th place in the League table.
It now looks like Hereford will have to win at Warrington on Saturday and all the other teams around Hereford lose.
That's South Shields, Curzon Ashton, Spennymoor, Chester and Boston.
If and it's a very big if that did happen then the table at teatime Saturday would look like this:
South Shields 45/71
Curzon 45/71
Spennymoor 45/71
Hereford 45/69
Chester 45/68
Boston 44/68
However, as can be seen, Boston have a game in hand.
Banbury play Boston on Tuesday April 16th
So again if Boston were defeated it would help Hereford.
On the last day of the season if Hereford beat Boston and at least two of the three clubs above them lost, then Hereford would be in the play-off.
It's not over yet but the odds must be something like 1000/1.
