Hereford's Arwyn Walby is with the Welsh Schools' FA U18s squad in Italy.
They will take part in the 2024 Roma Caput Mundi Tournament.
Walby was called up after two rounds of trials and games against Australia Schools in Aberystwyth and England Independent Schools in Shrewsbury.
The 16-year-old, who the County Times said goes to Ysgol Calon Cymru which has campuses in Llandrindod and Builth Wells, has featured for Hereford's first team this season.
He is also getting game time at Hereford Lads Club.
The step five city side, who play at the Herefordshire FA's County Ground, said: "Good Luck Arwyn, Smash it ππΌππΌ"
The club previously said Walby has put in some great performances so far this season and, as of February 5, had made 22 appearances, including 13 starts, scoring two goals and picking up one man of the match award.
The squad are now in Bologna in preparation for next week's Roma Caput Mundi tournament.
The Welsh Schools' FA said staff and players had a lovely meal at Ristaronte Victoria on Thursday night and were now making their way to Macron Sports' HQ before a friendly on Friday.
After the call-up, Walby told the official Hereford website: “I am very grateful for the opportunities and experiences that Hereford FC and The Lads Club have given me, to support me in developing and progressing my game, which has led to this opportunity with the Welsh Schools' under 18 squad."
