Southport manager Jim Bentley is looking forward to the visit of Hereford this afternoon.
Last Tuesday Southport won 1-0 at Scarborough, a good result for them.
“We’ve got to embrace every game, Hereford at home, they’re in decent form and it’s a tough game, that’s what our focus is on,” said Bentley as reported by 'Off The Park'.
“We have played a lot of tough sides recently, all play-off chasing sides and now, we’re coming up against teams who are maybe out of the picture. We’ll concentrate on the next game and try get a win, build a bit of momentum to go on an unbeaten run.”
Bentley has been in charge for 25 games.
“From where we where, rooted to the bottom of the table when we last played Hereford, we were seven points from safety and we’re not away from danger now by any stretch.
“We’re in a far better position than what we were, that’s pleasing
but there’s a lot of work to be done. If someone said at the start: ‘you
are going to win one, lose one with the odd draw in there,’ I’d have
taken it from where we’re at."
