Following a pitch inspection at 9am by a local referee, no final decision will be made on whether Hereford's game against Kings Lynn can go ahead at 3pm until the match referee looks at the pitch.
Currently it's not known what time the referee is due at Edgar Street.
Update: The referee is listed as Constantine Hatzidakis (Kent FA)
Kings Lynn travelled towards Hereford last night and so having paid for accomodation will hope the game can go ahead.
But for their supporters and those Hereford ones who live more than a hour or two from the Edgar Street, not knowing if the game will go ahead until at least 12 noon or perhaps later, is likely to stop them travelling.
And the cost to both clubs of having to play the game on a Tuesday night should today's game be called off will be high.
To hire a coach from Kings Lynn to Edgar Street and back will surely cost £1000 or so.
And for Hereford there are all the costs of preparing for today's game and then on top the likelyhood of a gate of maybe up to 700/800 less on a Tuesday night.
In essence postponing the game will potentially cost Hereford the best part of £10,000.
Given those costs is there a case to purchase frost covers which protect the pitch more than the current ones which are said to give protection down to -5C?
