Jack Tolley released and injured players update

Jack Tolley has been released after his short-term deal came to an end

Hereford manager Paul Caddis has said young midfielder Jack Tolley has been released after his short-term deal ended.

He has also given an update to supporters on injured players.

In a message on the official club website where he thanked supporters, Caddis said Tolley signed a short-term contract in December and after expiry, all parties felt it was best Jack gets some regular game time elsewhere.

"We thank him for his efforts here," Caddis said, with the 19-year-old midfielder's last appearance in the HFA County Challenge Cup last Tuesday.

On the injury front, Caddis said in his message:

"Jordan Lyden – Jord was back in training available for selection for Kings Lynn game and, just as bad luck shines on him time after time, 5 mins before the end of training a freak accident took place where Jordan blocked a shot and sprained his ankle. We are hoping in the coming weeks to see Jordan back in matchday squads.

"Andy Williams – ‘Willo’ has been getting through a calf issue as the days go by and it’s all about managing him and trusting his instincts on a regular basis. We have seen the impact he can make so we are hopeful there is still more to come with him in the coming weeks and months.

"Paul Downing – Paul felt his hamstring tightening up again last night and we will assess him in the coming days to see where we are at with that."
