Caddis gives verdict on what Bulls need to do before five back-to-back home games

Hereford manager Paul Caddis is ready to move on from Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Darlington as his side host South Shields at Edgar Street on Tuesday.

That's followed by another four home games, including the fifth round trophy tie against National League Gateshead on 2 February.

Caddis has given his verdict on what must change before the important run of games on home turf, where teams won't be looking forward to coming.

The Bulls' home record is better than their performance away from home, winning nine and drawing two of their 14 National League North games at Edgar Street so far this season.

He said: "It's an important period for us in the league obviously. We've got four at home and then the trophy game. But it needs to start Tuesday.

"We need to get back to being nice and solid and trying to get back to keeping clean sheets. And we know how strong we are at home.

"We know people won't enjoy coming to Edgar Street, especially when we get the supporters behind us.

"So we dust ourselves down and we go again Tuesday."

South Shields currently lie 12th in the league, below the Bulls who are seventh, and have only one three of their 13 games away from home this season.

Caddis, who said he and his players were angry and upset after the rubbish performance at struggling Darlington, admitted he won't have much time to reflect on the defeat.

"I'll probably go back and reflect on it, it's obviously quite raw at the moment," the gaffer said after the game.

"But I've not got much time to reflect on it, I'll drive home tonight (Saturday) and I'll think about it.

"But we've got to move on now, it's all about looking after what we can do as a group rather than what everybody else is doing.

"We've got an idea of what we need to do to be at the top end of the division and we'll continue to try and hit that target."
