Boos have rung around Darlington's ground as the Quakers fell to their eighth defeat under new boss Josh Gowling.
In charge of his 15th game for the struggling National League North outfit, they fell to a 2-0 defeat against 10-man Bishop's Stortford - who are still propping up the table despite the three points.
According to The Northern Echo's Craig Stoddart, some people felt Darlo had turned the corner after last week's 1-0 win over fellow strugglers Gloucester City.
But he said the latest defeat means "they've just reversed around the corner and back towards relegation".
On X, formerly Twitter, Stoddart added there were boos from the Tin Shed at Blackwell Meadows at full time for Josh Gowling. He said that was "entirely justified after that display".
In a later post, he then scaled Darlo for appointing Gowling.
"Darlington must act before it's too late, don't repeat Singh's error in persevering with a poor manager (Staunton in 2009)," he said.
"It's been clear since the start Gowling's appointment was a mistake."
In a report for The Northern Echo, he called the game dismal and it leaves Darlington eight points from safety. He said Darlington barely threatened and were two goals down by half time.
But despite a sending off with half an hour still to play for the Blues, Darlo "hardly laid a glove" on Bishop's Stortford, who picked up their only away win of the season.
