Fans have been slammed by King's Lynn's manager after they were ejected from the Boxing Day clash over homophobic chanting.
It could leave the club in trouble as the referee had to stop the game against Boston United, which the Linnets lost 2-1, twice.
The club said that in two intervals in the second half, there were reports of homophobic chanting coming from the Pattrick and Thompson Stand. Extra security was deployed and supporters told to stop.
But further reports of homophobic abuse, which saw the game stopped again temporarily, saw those thought to be responsible "were ejected and dealt with by Norfolk Police".
King's Lynn said they would cooperate with any police and/or FA investigation and Boss Adam Lakeland, as reported by Lynn News, said the club could now be fined.
He said: "If some of the chants are coming from the stand from our supporters it is stupidity really because, one, it doesn't help us at 2-0 down because the game is stop-start and we can't get any kind of momentum and, two, we're probably going to get fined.
"They've got to use their brains there because they haven't helped the team at all making those comments."
