Young Hereford keeper Shay Sterry has moved out on loan.Shay Sterry played in the county cup tie last month
He's joined Hellenic Premier League side Westfields where former Hereford goalkeeping coach Scott Russell is the new manager.
Russell was drafted in and moved to bring in other former Bulls youth coaches Dan Chance, Scott Davies and Steve Saunders after Phil Glover left by 'mutual consent'.
Glover admitted to the Hereford Times that it came as a shock.
But Shay Sterry made his debut for the step five side today, with Russell bringing in several new faces over recent weeks.
In their last match, it was Hereford FC Community U18s' manager Zeke Vivian between the sticks. He had previously played under Russell at Builth Wells.
Sterry's helped Westfields earn a point on the road at Magnotsfield United yesterday, with a 94th-minute overhead goal from Paul Hurrell levelling the score.
Afterwards, the city side said: "We couldn’t possibly sign off our social media posts without mentioning young keeper Shay Sterry in goal for the Fields today and making his debut.
"What a debut on a difficult pitch, made some brilliant saves and commanded his box.
"Thanks to Hereford FC for the loan."
Sterry has been named on the bench at different points this season, played in the HFA County Challenge Cup win against Clee Hill last month and also started in the first pre-season friendly at Hereford Pegasus before Curtis Pond joined.
In the summer, he was only 16 and impressed the several hundred Bulls fans who were at Old School Lane on that hot summer day.
Bulls News reported at the time that his 'home' club was Presteigne St Andrews and he had also been part of Shrewsbury Town's youth set-up.
Hereford FC said last night: "Well done to Shay Sterry who made his debut for Westfields today in their draw against Mangotsfield United.
"Great to see you getting off to a good start, Shay!"
He has also been playing for the Hereford FC Community under-18s side.
